HARRISONBURG, Va. -- For the second year in a row, Harrisonburg Tourism and Visitor Services is partnering with local businesses as part of the Harrisonburg International Festival.
It's a celebration for the Harrisonburg international community and a chance to showcase local restaurants and businesses.
There will be food tours, business specials and World Cup Soccer games.
There is also a community cookbook that will be available with international recipes from people and restaurants in the Valley.
The international festival draws thousands of people to Hillendale Park.
With the Harrisonburg International CommUNITY Celebration, people have the chance to win gift baskets, worth at least a hundred dollars.
People become eligible for the drawing once they've made a minimum purchase at a business.
Ten Thousand Villages is one of the stores that's taking part in the drawing.
As a fair trade store representing 38 countries, people at the store say it's a chance to notice Harrisonburg's rich culture.
"So it's really a time to celebrate the very rich, international shops that we have right here in our area and maybe explore some that people haven't seen yet," said Katey Warren, with Harrisonburg Tourism.
"We have lots of people from representing different countries and I think we're just sort of at a good place to just see what those other cultures can provide. I mean there are so many beautiful things out there, they're all handmade," said Valerie Weaver, Executive Director of Ten Thousand Villages.
The events kick off on Friday, with a drumming downtown public circle in Court Sqaure.
The International Festival starts on Saturday at noon.
