This year those who want to vote in Virginia will have to show an ID or a bill at the polls. But before casting your vote, you have to register.
Fernando Perez with Virginia organizing said registration has been steady.
" We've been seeing pretty consistent registrations. No one is procrastinating too much. We're still getting some applications in but we have seen that people are already registered if you wanna do so," Perez said.
If you live in Virginia, you should register by Oct. 15.
If you're applying for absentee voting in the mail, you have to apply by Oct. 30.
If you are applying and voting absentee in person, the deadline is Nov. 3.
Now, if you live in West Virginia, you have to register to vote by Oct. 16.
The absentee voting deadline for West Virginia is Oct. 31.
