After the James Madison University basketball game Wednesday night, the fans and students went for a record of their own.
They were trying to break into the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest game of basketball knockout.
With more than 200 participants, they shattered the old record of 167 players.
The 168th shooter actually pushed them over the limit and secured the record.
D.J. Brown, a sophomore at JMU and pitcher on the baseball team, won the competition.
The record breaking attempt was set up by the JMU Athletics Marketing Department.
Students say it was going faster than expected, but they weren't planning on getting out of the Convocation Center until after midnight.
