Students at James Madison University held a campus-wide unofficial student poll on Thursday.

Madison Liberty, a JMU organization focused political awareness, held a straw poll to gain student interest in the upcoming November election.

The President of the club, Luke Wachob, wanted to generate student interest about politics, the government and the November election to get more students involved in the club’s activities.

“There's a million political issues we could discuss, and we need to find out which ones and which candidates are really connecting with students," Wachob said.

Madison Liberty will tally the votes to determine who JMU students think will win the 2012 election.
