Waynesboro's Police Department needs your help in solving two break-ins from over the weekend.
The first break-in happened overnight on May 4 in the rental office at Brandon Ladd Apartments.
A police officer responded to a noise disturbance at the office and found the break-in.
There was no forced entry and nothing had been stolen, but police said the office had been ransacked.
On May 5, an employee at Ladd Elementary School discovered a break-in at the school.
Police said many doors at the school were forced open and offices were also ransacked.
The robbers also took an unknown amount of money from the school's vending machines.
Damage to the school is estimated to be more than $4,000.
Waynesboro Police Department Sargent Brian Edwards said elementary schools are rarely targets for crime.
"When schools are the victims, you think of not just of the schools, but automatically the kids," Edwards said. "That's their home; that's their home for another few weeks before it's shut down completely, so it takes a really desperate person to break-in to a school."
Anyone with information is asked to call the Waynesboro Police Department at (540) 942-6675 or Central Shenandoah Crime Stoppers at 1(800) 322-2017.
