BROADWAY -- On Tuesday, Village Library opened its doors at a new location on Main St. The old library building will become the Broadway Police station. Leaders with the library have been planning to move for more than a year.
This weekend, more than 200 volunteers from the community came out to help move books.
The new building has more than twice as much space as the old location. This space will let people sit and read comfortably. Story time will take place in a new children's program room.
The library's move had a lot of community support.
“We're really excited about the new library because it's in a great location on Main Street, which will have a lot of visibility, and we hope that it'll bring business to downtown, and also make it easier for people to find us,” said Barbara Andes, the branch manager.
Village Library's grand reopening is on March 16th. There will be story time, refreshments and activities to celebrate the move.
