Man Shot in Va. Veterans Hospital Parking Lot

State police have arrested a suspect in the shooting of a man in parking lot at the McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Richmond.

Sgt. Thomas Molnar says a trooper took the suspect into custody in front of a store on Route 10 in Chesterfield County. Officials told the Richmond Times-Dispatch that the FBI will lead the investigation because the hospital is federal property.

Police say the shooting happened shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday. The victim was transported to a local hospital. No other details are immediately available.

Dee Rybiski, spokeswoman for the FBI's Richmond Division, did not immediately return a telephone message seeking comment.
