Memorial Planned for Victim of New Market Crash

HARRISONBURG -- A memorial is planned for a man heavily involved in Shenandoah Valley athletics. According to the Virginia State Police, Stephen Flack, 63, was one of two people who died Thursday in a single-car crash on Interstate 81 near New Market.

According to his obituary, Flack was involved in several sports organizations in the Valley as a coach and umpire. He served on the board of the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Sports Commission.

Flack's obituary says a service for him will be held Saturday, April 13 at 1 p.m. at the Muhlenberg Lutheran Church in Harrisonburg.

James Buracker, 50, of Luray also died in the crash. He had also been involved heavily in the sports community in the valley. According to an obituary, a memorial service for Buracker was held Sunday at Luray High School.
