Bridgewater College held an event tonight by the mental health awareness agency Active Minds. Speaker David Romano, an Active Minds Speaker Bureau member, talked about his personal history with depression and self harm. We spoke with him about the bill and asked why this sort of progress is important for mental health patients.

"I think a big part of mental health is finding the right diagnosis, and finding the right place for them, and getting that more amount of time, extending that time limit just gives people that more about of time to find the right fit, and in the end get that treatment," says Romano.

Active Minds is a national group and has events at both Bridgewater College and James Madison University.
