WAYNESBORO, Va --- Football fans no longer need to worry about a place to sit during next Friday's season opener at Waynesboro High School. Workers have been busy replacing the school's stadium bleachers since inspectors said it was unsafe.
The bleachers will be ready for kick-off and that means the Little Giants will get to play on their own turf next Friday.
“You'd much rather play at home. That's the whole idea of home field advantage,” said Little Giants Coach Derek McDaniel. “These are beautiful bleachers. These guys have done a wonderful job. It enhances the field. It just improves the program immensely.”
Waynesboro School's superintendent said the project cost $285,000, not including the engineering costs.
