UPDATE: The Waynesboro Police Department has confirmed the name of the victim as Payman Biazarikari, 37 years old, a native of Iran.

He had been living in Fairfax County with family members at the time of his death. It is believed that he had been in the United States on a visa for approximately two weeks.

The Police Department’s death investigation continues.

WAYNESBORO -- We now know the 37-year-old man who fell 160 ft. to his death was a citizen of Iran.

Waynesboro police sergeant Brian Edwards says he was not married and had no children. The police department is investigating his death.

"We want to look at if any criminal negligence played a part in this," said Edwards.

Right now, the Waynesboro police department is ruling out foul play.

"Even though this is more than likely an accident, we want to have have the information for the family," said Edwards.

The man came to the United States a few weeks ago on a green card.

Waynesboro police were able to track down his parents in Canada with the help of distant relatives he stayed with in Northern Virginia.

"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the gentleman that passed away due to the accident yesterday. At this time the authorities are investigating the accident and we will defer to them for any of the details to be released at the appropiate time," said Mike Minnis, the Director of Public Relations at nTelos.

As for the company that police say the man worked for, Summit Tower Construction, they have not responded to our phone calls regarding the incident.

Waynesboro police hope to notify the parents of the victim in the next 24 hours.

The Virginia Department of Labor and Industry is also heading an investigation into the accident to see what role the employer played in the incident.
