LURAY, Va. (WHSV) -- The Page County Sheriff's Office made an arrest in the death of Teddy Lamonte Craig, on Wednesday afternoon.

Chasity Lavelle Veney, 36, is charged with malicious wounding and second-degree murder. The sheriff's office says Veney lived with Craig.

Craig, 52, was found dead in a home at 20 Hilltop Lane in Luray on the morning of June 8. The Luray Police Department assisted with the investigation.

Many of Craig's neighbors on Hilltop Lane said he was a jokester and a very friendly man.

Neighbors also said that Veney was normally out during all hours of the night and liked to party.

Willie Campbell, one of the neighbors, said he could tell something was wrong the day Craig died when he saw Veney and her mother out in front of the house, "Me and Bobby walked down and opened the door and there he was. In a pile of blood on the floor, but he was dead. I called 911 and they wanted to know if he was breathing. We checked. He didn't have a pulse. He didn't have nothing. He was gone. He was a nice guy. And everyone else around here would tell you the same thing."
