HARRISONBURG, Va. People filing appeals under the Affordable Care Act are running into trouble.
Andy Bolt, a navigator with Enroll Virginia, said a lot of the glitches occurring on the federal marketplace happen because the marketplace and the Department of Social Services view income differently.
Bolt said if this happens to you, the first step is to re-apply. A lot of times that catches any user errors, you didn't see the first time.
The second step is to appeal to both the marketplace and the Department of Social Services to find out who is wrong; however, Bolt said, appealing the marketplace may be quicker.
"I mean it has been kind of an evolving process as things come up and get fixed but yeah, as issues have come up, they have all eventually gotten fixed. So, hopefully this will be the next thing to also get fixed," said Bolt.
