Police Say Missing VCU Professor May Be in Danger

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Police say a missing Virginia Commonwealth University professor could be in danger.

Petersburg police said Friday they are looking for 62-year-old David Primeaux.

Petersburg Police spokeswoman Esther Hyatt says officers had telephone contact with Primeaux around 8 p.m. Thursday but have not been able to reach him since then. Hyatt said in a release that Primeaux "may be endangered."

Primeaux is an associate professor in VCU's Computer Science Department.

VCU spokeswoman Anne Buckley says university police are not involved in the investigation. She said she had no information about what raised concerns that Primeaux may be in danger.

Primeaux is 5-feet-10 and 165 pounds with dark brown hair and glasses. He drives a silver 1986 Mazda pickup with Virginia tags YDL-2807.
