School Bus, Car Crash Sends Student to Hospital

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY - A school bus and a car crashed on Rt. 33-West on Friday morning. Twelve students were on board. One student and the driver of the car were taken to RMH with minor injuries.

The crash happened near Bridges Road just before 7:30 a.m.

All parents have been notified. According to Virginia State Police, the bus was heading to Mountain View Elementary when it was rear-ended by a car.

The school system brought in another bus to take the remaining students to school.

VSP says the driver, Jason Boggs, is charged with reckless driving.

A representative from Rockingham County Schools said the crash will not have an effect on the afternoon bus ride home.
