ROCKINGHAM COUNTY -- A school bus slid off the road with children on board and first responders are sharing their thoughts on the incident.

The crash happened in Rockingham County on Route 33 near the intersection with McGaheysville Road.

Rockingham County Fire Chief Jeremy Holloway tells us some kids with the Staunton Boys and Girls Club were on the bus when it went off the road. No one was hurt. Chief Holloway believes the bus was having brake problems.

"A car pulled up beside them and told them they had smoke coming out from the back of the bus. The bus driver pulled off to the side and the public works with the school system of Waynesboro is coming to pick up the bus and see what's mechanically is wrong with it. Another bus from the city is coming to pick the kids and take them back their home school," said Holloway.

The kids were on their way back from a day at the Massanutten Water Park.
