The Senior Center in Waynesboro is undergoing some renovations.
Most of them to help them keep warm during the winter months.
The senior center is replacing their heating system and central air.
They will also replace their windows and get an accesible bathroom at the senior center level.
The city of Waynesboro and the Valley Program for Aging Services funded the project.
Janice Gentry said current system is 60 years old.
She said during the winter months, some rooms are very cold and others very warm
With the new system, they will have individual thermostats.
"Over the past several years, the old hearing system has been very very inconsistent at best. It limped along. We didn't it was gonna make it through last winter," she said.
She said the new system will all be energy efficient.
Also, with central air , they will also have a cooler summer at the center.
The construction will go until December.
