WAYNESBORO, Va. -- Waynesboro City School's superintendent is leaving his position and starting a new job at James Madison University.

Dr Robin Crowder will be back to the university where he started college 40 years ago. His family created a legacy at JMU that he will continue to help grow.

He will become director of education for JMU's graduate school, which means he'll get back to teaching students. Dr. Crowder will teach students about being administrators using his real-world experience. He already taught some courses and looks forward to doing more.

“Teaching and working in schools has been really a dream come true,” said Dr. Crowder, “The whole idea that I would get to go work with folks wanting to be school administrators, or instructional supervisors, or even superintendents, is pretty exciting.”

The Waynesboro City School Board will lead the search for the city's next superintendent. Dr. Crowder plans to work closely with the board as they transition to the next leader.
