HARRISONBURG, Va---More than 400 students graduated from Eastern Mennonite University on Sunday.
For six students, attending EMU is part of a family tradition.
Ryan Eshelman walked across the stage to get his diploma from EMU.
His grandfather and dad also graduated from the University.
He said his family's values and the University's are closely linked. Therefore, he decided to follow his relatives' footsteps.
Families and friends of Eastern Mennonite students are celebrating tonight.
"It's nice to have a legacy here. I'm very proud of this school first of all and also proud to be a third-generation student here," said Ryan.
His grandfather said he is proud he is continuing the family tradition.
"I love the college. It started me on a journey and I hope and pray that will start Ryan in the same journey," said Rohrer.
Students in the Seminary graduated on Saturday.
