HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) -- Hundreds of young herdsmen and women are heading to Harrisonburg for the annual Virginia Youth Livestock Expo.
Starting Friday and running through the weekend, more than 300 Virginia 4-H and FFA members will exhibit their livestock projects at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds.
The expo will feature market and breeding shows for beef cattle, swine, sheep, and meat goats, as well as a stockmen's contest. Agricultural contests and events will include a crops contest and agriscience demonstration.
Organizers say they expect more than nearly 1,200 animals to be shown at the expo. Admission is free and the public's invited.
