Property recovered in Rose arrest
WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) -- The Waynesboro Police Department arrested a Waynesboro man last Friday after officers used a department narcotics K-9 on his vehicle while investigating possible drug activity in the city.
Kendrick Lamarr Rose, 20, was charged with two felonies: possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm after being a convicted felon.
On April 18 at approximately 11:45 a.m. an officer, who was acting on an anonymous tip, went by Rose’s residence in the 1100 block of South Delphine Avenue to speak with him. The officer noticed a semi-automatic handgun in Rose’s 2004 Saturn sedan.
A narcotics K-9 unit was then summoned and alerted to the presence of controlled substances in the vehicle. When the officers searched the vehicle, they seized a baggie of marijuana, $168 in cash, and a .25-caliber Taurus semi-automatic handgun.
Rose was arrested at his residence without incident. He is free on a $5,000 bond.
