Woman in Sunday Rt. 340 Accident Dies

AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) -- A woman has died after crashing her car Sunday afternoon in Augusta County.

The 2003 Kia Spectra was traveling along Route 340, approximately a mile north of Route 778, when it ran off the right side of the road, went up an embankment, struck two small trees and overturned.

The driver, Kara L. Gray, 29, of Port Republic, Va., was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle at about 5:40 p.m. She was transported to UVA Medical Center, where she died Monday, Jan. 20.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
