The Virginia State Crime Commission will consider whether deaths and alleged rapes on college campuses should be investigated by local police instead of campus police.
The issue is on the agenda for Wednesday's commission meeting.
Norfolk Delegate Paula Miller's proposal last winter to put city or
county police in charge of those investigations was referred to the
commission for study.
Also on the agenda is a staff report on cyberbullying and
impersonating people on social media websites.
The staff will review what other states are doing to address the legal aspects of cyberbullying, and Facebook officials will tell the commission what that popular social media site is doing to combat the problem.
