Monday night marks a big change for Staunton City Schools. It is the first meeting with the new interim superintendent.
It's not a secret the school system has faced some challenges recently, and Edward Clymore says he doesn't want to be too critical, but there are things that haven't been getting enough attention.
The budget is a top priority right now. Clymore says the stimulus money is gone, and right now, they're working off of the governor's proposed budget.
For next school year, they are one million dollars under budget.
Clymore says he's doing his best to prioritize and reorganize things, but cutting jobs is not off the table.
"It's just going to be very difficult," Clymore says. "I would not like to see it affect personnel, but I cannot say that it will not."
At Monday night's meeting there are going to be some personnel changes.
Clymore says one comes from Doctor Nichols' decision, but the other two are his.
