A teacher from Elkton has been named teacher of the year for her unique ways of using new technology.

Jennie Carr teaches fourth grade at Elkton Elementary School. She won the Thinkfinity Teacher of the Year Award. It includes a $1,000 prize sponsored by Verizon.

Carr was recognized for using interactive lessons with new technology like iPads.

She is also getting money to teach other teachers how to use new technology.
