Harrisonburg High School Cell Phone Policy Appears to be Working

Harrisonburg High School students have been allowed all year to use their cell phones in class, and Superintendent Scott Kizner says there have been no complaints from teachers or the principal.

The high school is doing a pilot program to test if students can handle having their phones on in class. School leaders say it is nice for parents if they want to stay in contact with their kids during school hours, and it can make the learning process easier for students, too.

The pilot program ends in January and school leaders will decide whether or not to expand the program.
