Elkton has a very visible reminder of the terrorist attacks at Stonewall Park.
They have built a memorial that includes an actual I-beam from the World Trade Center. The memorial depicts a model of the trade centers set on a base the shape of the Pentagon.
The memorial organizer spoke with our Bob Corso about the events planned there.
Organizer Rick Workman says "it will be a short solemn occasion, we have the two ladder trucks from McGaheysville, one from Merck, they will form a cross shape behind this with a huge American flag hanging down and all of our local valley firefighters and first responders will be here in their uniform, during the course of the cereomny I will recognize them and give them the honor that they deserve.
