PENN LAIRD, Va. – Spotswood has not seen the postseason since the school split and formed East Rockingham High School. Now with their first full class of seniors since that split, the Trailblazers are talking about a winning season, and more.

The Blazers bring back 22 seniors, a large group of players with plenty of playing time at the varsity level. This team's attitude is shifting, from expecting to compete, to expecting to win. Fourth year head coach Chris Dodson says this team as a whole had one of the most successful off seasons since he took over the team. Physical strength and experience should help bolster a team that went 5-5 a year ago.

Offensively, the Blazers have tweaked the scheme a bit again, moving to multiple sets, primarily out of the Pro-I. Defensively they'll stick with a 4-2-5 defense.

Spotswood is hoping they have the right combination to earn their first winning season and playoff appearance since 2009.
