The James Madison University campus is still riding high after a big victory in football over Virginia Tech Saturday.

The campus was like a sea of purple and gold Monday, as students showed their school spirit.

While the game may be over, JMU freshman Anna Greene says the celebrating is far from done.

"People are still talking about the game. It's still the number one story around campus," says Greene.

Greene says, after this weekend's win, students are pumped up for this year's football season.

"I think now there's going to be a lot more student involvement. There's going to be a lot of people going to the games that wouldn't go to the games before, just a lot more student passion for the game," says Greene.

According to Director of Athletics Jeff Bourne, she's right.

More than 1,200 student tickets were picked up for the game against Liberty just on Monday, but it's also reaching other fans as well.

"Even though we're sold out for the season, we still sold 50 seats for next year for 2011 next year, so there's an impact both for this year and next year already," says Bourne.

The JMU athletics Website has been swamped as well. It normally has 90,000 hits a month, but for Saturday, it had 32,000 in one day.

"Both live video and audio from that and everything that went on, so it was just a phenomenal volume day for us," says Bourne.

He says one reason JMU has sports is for national exposure, and he says, after this weekend, they've set the bar even higher.

"I think it elevates where this program has worked every day, day in and day out, to try to compete at the very highest levels. And when you have a win like this you really feel like your work's justified," says Bourne.

While the JMU football games are already sold out for this season, many people are turning to Websites like "StubHub" for tickets. There, people are already selling tickets at a higher price because of the team's success so far this season.
