Thirty-six picks came, and 36 picks went.

And former James Madison star Dawn Evans did not hear her named called during Monday's WNBA Draft.

Evans went undrafted, despite a decorated career at JMU that included a school and CAA record 2,667 points, the league's player of the year award as a senior, and back-to-back CAA championships.

Evans was third in the country in scoring at 23.1 points per game as a senior.

"Thank you everyone for the support!" Evans posted on Twitter shortly after the conclusion of Monday's draft. "I still have a shot at this thing!"

ESPN.com rated Evans as the No. 10 prospect in the field prior to Monday's draft, and most analysts projected the 5-7 guard as either a late-first or early-second round selection.

Evans played most of the past two seasons after being diagnosed with the kidney disorder FSGS. She only missed three of a possible 60 games after the diagnosis.

She was hoping to become the second JMU player to be drafted in the past three years. Tamera Young, now with the Chicago Sky, was taken eighth overall by the Atlanta Dream in 2008.
