It's been a very somber day at FedEx Field as the Washington Redskins play their first game since safety Sean Taylor was shot to death.
The 24-year-old Taylor died Tuesday, a day after being shot at his home in Florida during a burglary. Four men have been charged and are being held without bail.
The team also honored Taylor on its first defensive play, putting just 10 men on the field while Taylor's replacement, Reed Doughty, stood on the sidelines with arms crossed. Doughty made a tackle on the next play.
Tailgaters were unusually quiet throughout the parking lots, many of them wearing Taylor's Number-21 jersey. Fans were asked to enter the stadium an hour early for pregame tributes to the fallen Redskin.
