The Spotswood Trailblazers took on the number two team in the state in Lynchburg Tuesday night in the Region III quarters, and for the most part, it was a close game.
In the second quarter, Brookville went on a 9-2 run, which gave them the momentum they needed to lead at halftime by eight. Spotswood made a late push with the help from Likisha Taylor and company to bring it within six, but the Bees' proved to be too much.
"I couldn't ask for one thing more from these girls. They practice hard everyday," says Spotswood head coach Chris Dodson after the game. "Game in and game out we get the potential and even more out of them. I'm so proud of what they've done this year."
Spotswood ends their year with seven losses. They fell three times to Turner Ashby, who is the number one team in the state, twice against Brookville, and once to Waynesboro earlier in the year when the Little Giants were undefeated.
