JMU senior center Scott Lemn is being held out of most of this first week of preseason camp.
Head coach Mickey Matthews says it's a precaution, as Lemn deals with a hamstring issue. The coach adds Lemn could return to full practice by late in the week, depending on how quickly the hamstring heals.
Lemn's been a starter on the offensive line since midway through his redshirt freshman year.
"Scott Lemn is the end question of our offense," says Matthews. "You know, he just really does a great job in terms of leadership with all the guys."
"He's great," says senior tailback Eugene Holloman. "He blocks the right guy, everytime. I've never seen him miss a block. I love to run behind him."
Lemn and Holloman were the two Dukes on the CAA's preseason all-conference team. But Lemn has other things on his mind.
"Well, I mean, that's just a preseason expectation," says Lemn. "As for myself, I just want to play hard for this team. There's nothing more important to me than winning games."
