Virginia Tech's search for a playmaker at receiver has Frank Beamer looking at one of his stars on defense.

Senior Victor "Macho" Harris has been seeing some practice time with the receivers this summer. According to The Roanoke Times, Harris runs with the offense one practice period per day.

Harris was All-ACC at cornerback last season, and he's also Tech's primary kick returner.

The Hokies are trying to find replacements for all four receivers from last year. Projected starter Brandon Dillard was lost for the season in July after rupturing an Achilles, and Zach Luckett was suspended last week following a DUI arrest.

Converted quarterback Ike Whitaker is the only receiver on Tech's roster who has caught a pass in a college game.
