The JMU Dukes will get their chance to put last week's season-opening loss to Duke behind them on Saturday when they host North Carolina Central.
"That's the worst thing about our sport, that you have to wait another week before you get a chance to play," says senior quarterback Rodney Landers.
"Everybody's still positive," says senior tailback Eugene Holloman. "We're just ready to play again, ready to get our first victory of the season."
Like JMU, NC Central lost their season opener last week, 33-22 to Fayetteville State at home. JMU coach Mickey Matthews says the Eagles like to throw the ball on offense, which could become an issue if the weather is bad.
But Matthews says he isn't taking anything for granted.
"They're very susceptible to a big play, but they make some big plays too. They're the kind of team that can make you look bad in a hurry," says Matthews. "But we've had a good week of preparation, and we're ready to get back on the field."
