Former JMU Diamond Duke Brett Sellers is back in town.
Sellers wrapped up his first season in the Washington Nationals' minor league system in late August. Sellers signed with the Nationals as a free agent after going undrafted in June.
Sellers has returned to campus to take classes toward his education degree for the fall semester.
"I don't really know if it's sunk in yet," he says of being a professional baseball player. "I mean, it's definitely a great experience, and I'm really happy to be a part of it."
Sellers was one of the offensive leaders on last season's NCAA Tournament team. The outfielder hit .410, with 17 homers and 55 RBI in 55 games.
Sellers hit just .217 in 29 games with the Nationals' Gulf Coast League team in Florida.
