Recently, DirecTV subscribers have been having difficulty watching WHSV News 3.

This is an ongoing technical issue that WHSV and DirecTV have been attempting to fix. However, it is a problem at DirecTV, not News 3.

At this time, most of the complaints involve audio and video being out of sync, freezing picture and black screens. Temporary fixes viewers can attempt include changing the channel for a few minutes and then returning to WHSV or resetting the DirecTV receiver. However, these are only temporary and the problem will resurface until the issue is resolved.

If you are having issues, WHSV asks you to call DirecTV at 800-494-4388 or 800-779-4388 (for hearing-impaired customers).

If you are having trouble seeing our newscasts on WHSV, you can catch them on MyValley (DirecTV channel 50). Daybreak is rebroadcast between 7 and 9 a.m., the 6 p.m. newscast is rerun at 7 p.m. and the 11@11 is rebroadcast at Midnight.

Other popular shows are rerun on MyValley, including Oprah at 10 p.m.

I have had nothing but problems since switching to Direct T.V. this is an ongoing problem with channel 3, I am becoming very aggravated, the only reason why we swichted was to get local news and now you can not even watch it, nobody's lips are in sync with the words, that I would rather not watch it at all.

I have had nothing but problem with Direct Tv since we changed. We are going back with comcast.

This not a new issue, it's been going on for several weeks now. I find it difficult to think the issue is with Direct TV. Your track record is iffy, at best. I get a kick out of your "Summer Storm", possible power outage broadcasts each summer, during thunder storm season. Advising your audience to be prepared with a available portable generator and stay tuned for alerts. But when the power goes out in Harrisonburg you don't have any back up power. How can anyone watch for alerts when you can't broadcast.

It not only the News but regular programing too. It's messing up my Wheel of Fortune

I too agree that these problems have not started recently. Why does TV3 have so many issues with their broadcast. I had comcast cable and the broadcast feed was bad as well. I've even resorted to rabbit ears. Both analog and digital reception is bad and I live on a hill within the Hburg limits. Why can't TV3 fix their issues.

We recently switched from the NY ABC to the "local" ABC so that we could receive local news. I wish that I had not done this. I find the program scheduling terrible. Before, I could at least see Oprah at 6 p.m., rather falling asleep long before 10 p.m. and not seeing it at all. Also, the issue currently happening is not new. This problem has existed frequently since we switched.
