Mourning Two WV Athletes Killed in Friday Crash

Glenville State College will hold a memorial service this week for two athletes killed in a highway accident.

State Police say 18-year-old Kyle Puffenbarger of Upper Tract and 20-year-old Brandi Bowen of Salem were killed Friday on U.S. Route 33 in Barbour County. State Police say a Ford Explorer driven by Puffenbarger went out of control, entered the median and rolled.

Puffenbarger was a redshirt defensive back on the football team. Bowen was a distance runner on the track team.

Glenville State announced Monday a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Harry B. Heflin Administration Building on campus.

Funeral services are scheduled for Bowen on Tuesday in Salem and for Puffenbarger on Thursday in Franklin.
