Gary Sheffield hit a two-run homer and Magglio
Ordonez drove in two runs as Detroit doubled up Baltimore 8-to-4.
Sheffield snapped a three-all tie in the fifth with his second
homer of the season, two innings after Daniel Cabrera hit him with
a pitch. The two had to be pulled apart during a benches-clearing
incident after Tigers hurler Jeremy Bonderman threw a pitch at
Miguel Tejada's (teh-HAH'-dahz) ankles.
Sheffield and two hits and scored three times to help Bonderman
improve to 1-and-0.
Bonderman allowed four runs and nine hits in five-plus innings,
leaving the game after Jay Gibbons hit a solo homer.
Cabrera was reached for four earnd runs on four hits and six
walks in five innings. He's 1-and-3.
Fernando Rodney pitched two and a-third innings for his first
save.
