Nationals Take Series From World Champs

Ronnie Belliard had a great weekend in St. Louis. The ex-Cardinal received his World Series ring on Saturday and then rapped out four hits, including a two-run homer, in the Washington Nationals' 7-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Leadoff hitter Felipe Lopez added three hits. Ryan Langerhans added his first career grand slam with his first homer of the season in a five-run eighth inning uprising by the Nats, who've won five of six and 12 of 17.

The Nationals took two of three for their first series win over the Cardinals since 1999, when the franchise was in Montreal. Washington finished its road trip 5-2.

Albert Pujols had three hits that has raised his average 63 points to .302. Scott Spiezio homered in the eighth for St. Louis.
