Bobby Abreu and Jim Thome supplied Philadelphia's power in a 13-to-10 slugfest over the Chicago White Sox.
Abreu hit a solo homer in the first before slamming a two-run shot in the Phillies' seven-run fourth. Thome added a two-run blast
in the fifth to chase White Sox starter Jon Garland.
Placido Polanco finished with three R-B-I's.
The teams combined to hit eight homers in the game after hitting
nine the night before. The White Sox wasted home runs by Aaron
Rowand, Paul Konerko, Miguel Olivo (oh-LEE'-voh), Jose Valentin
(VAL'-ehn-teen) and Joe Crede (KREE-dee).
Phillies starter Eric Milton was shaky over five innings,
yielding six runs and nine hits in five innings. But Milton
improved to 8-and-1.
Garland was ripped for ten runs and eight hits in four-plus
innings. He's 5-and-3.
