Jeter ripped the go-ahead, two-run blast in the seventh before
Williams went deep one batter later. Jeter was back in the lineup
after missing three games with a sore left groin.
Sheffield's two-run shot was part of a four-run third. He has
nine homers this season, one more than both Williams and Jeter.
Yankees starter Kevin Brown had to leave the game after two
innings because of back pain. He allowed four runs in the second.
Paul Quantrill is 5-and-2 after allowing just one run over four
innings of relief. Mariano Rivera pitched the ninth for his 25th
save.
Joe Kennedy blew the lead and fell to 4-and-4, giving up seven
runs -- six earned -- on nine hits in six-plus innings.
