Evans, Hislop Earn Conference Honors for Dukes

James Madison star guard Dawn Evans and freshman Tarik Hislop earned all-conference honors Wednesday at the CAA awards banquet.

On the eve of the women's conference tournament, Evans was named to the All-CAA first team for the second straight season, while Hislop made the All-Rookie team.

Evans, who hit 104 three-pointers during the regular season, led the Dukes in scoring (25.5 ppg), while Hislop was second, averaging 10.2 per contest.

Delaware's Elena Delle Donne joined Hislop on the All-Rookie team. The freshman was also named the Rookie of the Year and the conference's Player of the Year.

Delle Donne led the CAA in scoring (26.9), rebounding (9.2), free throw percentage (.915), three-point field goal percentage (.435) and minutes played (37.8).

VCU's Kita Waller was named the league's Defensive Player of the Year, and Old Dominion's Wendy Larry was picked the Coach of the Year.
