At one point during Wednesday's visit with the Philadelphia Eagles, Arthur Moats ran into a familiar face.

Akeem Jordan, Moats' former teammate at James Madison, is entering his fourth season in the NFL, all with the Eagles.

"Just saying how it's a real good organization," Moats said Jordan told him during their conversation. "And to enjoy this experience, but know it's a business when I get there."

Moats is hoping to join Jordan, who started ten games at linebacker for the Eagles last year, and Colts defensive end J.D. Skolnitsky as former JMU players on NFL rosters.

If drafted later this month, Moats would become the first JMU player selected since running back Curtis Keaton in 2000. Both Jordan and Skolnitsky, who as a rookie spent last season on the Redskins' practice squad, entered the league as undrafted free agents.

"Philly was real nice," Moats texted. "Their facilities were top of the line."

Moats said his day included watching the Eagles practice, meeting with head coach Andy Reid, and a film session with defensive line coach Rory Segrest.

Moats said the Eagles, who utilize a 4-3 defensive alignment, are looking at him as a defensive end, his college position.

He listed safety Eric Berry of Tennessee, TCU defensive end Jerry Hughes, and running backs Toby Gerhart (Stanford) and Jonathan Dwyer (Georgia Tech) as also being among the 17 draft prospects on hand.

Moats was also in Buffalo earlier this week for a visit with the Bills, and he is scheduled to travel to San Francisco to meet with the 49ers next week.

The three-day NFL Draft begins April 22.
