No License Needed this Weekend to Fish in WV

For one weekend only, people can fish West Virginia waters without a license.

Residents and nonresidents alike can enjoy free fishing Saturday and Sunday as the state celebrates National Fishing and Boating Week.

Division of Natural Resources Director Frank Jezioro says events to encourage fishing are planned around the state.

Two of the largest are a fishing derby at the Bowden Hatchery in Randolph County and another derby at Little Beaver State Park in Raleigh County. Both are Saturday and offer basic fishing instruction.
