Glen Smith isn't going to let his wheelchair keep him from entering his first tennis tournament.
To add to the challenge, he will be competing against able-bodied athletes.
Smith is the first person in a wheelchair to ever compete in the tournament scheduled for next week at Mary Baldwin College.
He finished one of his last practices before the tournament at Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center Wednesday.
Smith says, "It means a lot. I try to do the best in anything I do and I'm going to do the same with this. I've made an active life and I'm going to try to compete in anything I can."
The only difference with Smith is that he will get two bounces to his opponent's one.
The tournament starts July 30.
