Mike Bocock, the winningest coach in Valley Baseball League history is out as the head coach of the Luray Wranglers.

"Right now I'm not the coach of the Luray Wranglers. I won't be tomorrow (Tuesday) night when we come to Harrisonburg." said Bocock. "We'll see about the future in the coming weeks."

Monday night, Bocock confirmed by phone he is no longer with the Wranglers in any capacity after nearly a decade as head coach. He took over as head coach mid-way through the 2003 season. His run as a Wrangler, at least for the immediate future, is over after an argument and "differing philosophies" with new GM Brett Fuller.

Bocock has been coaching in the VBL for 23 years.

He is the only head coach in Wranglers history to record a winning season, something he's done 9 times. Under Bocock, the Wranglers won the Valley Baseball League Championship in 2006, 2008 and 2010.

Bocock adamantly said he would pursue coaching again in the Valley League in the near future.

Fuller took over the GM role with the Wranglers in 2012 and is currently listed as an assistant coach on the Wranglers online roster. Multiple sources indicated Fuller would assume the head coaching position immediately beginning Tuesday night at Harrisonburg.

Fuller could not be reached for comment and did not return WHSV's voicemail Monday night. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
