Burgess Selected For Radford University Athletics Hall Of Fame

Bridgewater College head basketball coach Don Burgess has been selected for induction into the Radford University Athletics Hall of Fame. Burgess, along with four other former student-athletes, will be inducted on Friday, October 18, 2013. The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Dinner will be held in conjunction with Radford's Fall Homecoming Weekend.

Burgess, a 1994 graduate and a standout on the basketball court, was a first team all-conference selection in 1994. He finished his career with 1,442 points which was second at the time and is still fifth best in program history. When his career ended, Burgess also ranked in the top-10 in career steals (4th with 162), rebounds (5th with 614) and assists (9th with 231). He owns the program's career-best free throw percentage (.842) and still ranks sixth in steals and 10th in rebounds.

Joining Burgess in the 2013 Radford Hall of Fame Class are Karen Bowles (women's basketball), Sheila Branch (women's basketball), Richard Hogan (men's lacrosse) and Gretchen Foster (women's volleyball).
