Pat Devlin threw for four touchdowns and David Hayes rushed for 107 yards and a score, helping Delaware cruise to a 45-27 win over Massachusetts Saturday.
Delaware (9-1, 6-1 Colonial Athletic Association) clinched at least a share of the conference title, since William & Mary lost to James Madison 30-24. The Blue Hens can gain the CAA title outright and claim the league's automatic NCAA playoff berth with a victory in the regular season finale against Villanova next Saturday.
Devlin completed 16 of 22 passes for 240 yards and one interception for Delaware. He had passing scores of ten, 31, 44 and 31 yards, each to a different receiver.
Hayes, who finished with 15 carries, highlighted the third quarter with a 61-yard touchdown to give the Blue Hens a 38-21 lead.
Kyle Havens had a career-high four touchdowns for the Minutemen (6-4, 4-3).
