FORT DEFIANCE, Va. --- For the first time under head coach Dan Rolfe, the Fort Defiance Indians are coming off a season with a winning record. Now after a trip to the playoffs, down at the Fort, they're hoping to raise the bar once again.

Last season, close games were Fort's downfall. The Indians, falling be less than a touchdown in four of their five losses. In 2012, the Indians hoping to win more of those close games, and start off hotter than a year ago.

Offensively, Fort features one of the only returning starting quarterbacks in the Valley District in Trevor Lam. The Indians will run the I-Pro formation, defensively, they'll run a 4-3. Coach Rolfe says this team may not be faster, stronger or more talented than last year's squad, but they are more of a unit making them a better team.

The Indians hoping 2012 is the year they take the next step and earn a playoff win.
